Building on the strategic partnership established through the virtual signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), a delegation from Cagayan State University (CSU) Lal-lo Campus conducted a benchmarking visit to Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) on June 17, 2026, further solidifying the collaboration between the two state higher education institutions.
The benchmarking activity served as the first major undertaking following the virtual MOU signing held on June 15, 2026, during which CSU Officer-in-Charge University President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez and BASC President Dr. Jameson H. Tan formalized the institutions' commitment to fostering academic cooperation in instruction, research, extension, innovation, faculty development, and student mobility.
During the June 17 visit, the partnership advanced with the formal signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), translating the broad commitments outlined in the MOU into concrete collaborative initiatives. The MOA provides the operational framework for implementing joint academic programs, research collaborations, extension services, faculty and student exchanges, and other capacity-building activities between the two institutions.
Leading the CSU Lal-lo delegation was Campus Executive Officer Engr. James B. Cabildo, together with campus officials, faculty members, and key personnel, who participated in a comprehensive benchmarking program designed to learn from BASC's best practices in academic governance, institutional management, and campus development.
The delegation visited various academic colleges, administrative offices, research and extension units, and innovative facilities to gain insights into BASC's successful programs and operational strategies. The activity also provided an avenue for meaningful discussions on institutional excellence, quality assurance, digital transformation, and sustainable academic development.
The benchmarking visit reflects CSU Lal-lo's commitment to continuous institutional improvement by adopting innovative practices from partner institutions while fostering a culture of collaboration and shared learning among state universities and colleges.
This initiative realizes the University's belief that meaningful partnerships extend beyond formal agreements. Through sustained collaboration, knowledge exchange, and mutual support, CSU and BASC aim to develop impactful programs that advance higher education and contribute to national development.
